2012 CANADIAN NATIONAL SOARING COMPETITION

INFORMATION FOR CONTESTANTS

REGISTRATION FEE

The Registration fee is $310.75 ($275.00 + HST). For registrations received by April 30, 2012, the fee is $282.50 ($250.00 + HST). If the registrant withdraws prior to the contest the fee will be refunded.

At York the preferred forms of payment is by cheque or cash but we also accept VISA and MasterCard. We do not accept American Express or debit cards. Cheques should be made payable to “York Soaring Association” and sent to:

Tows

Contest tows to 2000ft. are $42.94 ($38.00 + HST). Tows during the practice period are at the regular club rate of $37.86 ($33.50 + HST).

 

Meals

Light lunches will be available daily, and four dinners (not including the banquet) will be available. Costs will be posted once determined.

Membership Account

When you register you will be made a temporary member of York Soaring and a membership account will be set up for you. You will be given a membership number and a Membership ID. When the registration fee has been paid you will be advised of your membership number and ID and then you can access your account on-line. We do not issue invoices.

  1. Your User Name is your five letter Membership ID.

  2. Your Password Is your membership number.

  3. Once you have accessed the site your account balance will be displayed. A negative number indicates you have a credit and a positive number shows what you owe.

  4. Click on “MEMBERS” and a drop down menu will appear:

  5. Member Billing; Select the dates for the period you want information for and click search. Your payments and charges will be displayed for that period. You can select the number of lines to be displayed on the page

  6. Member Logs: Select the dates for the period you want information for and click search. Your flight data will be displayed. We do not record flight times for private gliders.

  7. Billing and flight log information can be displayed in spreadsheet format by clicking on the Excel icon.

Payments

Registration fee: Payable no later than June 19, 2012, or upon arrival at the field.

Tows: Can be prepaid or paid at the end of the contest.

Meals: Purchase tickets, can be paid by cash, cheque, credit card, or charged to your account.

 

Accounts with a balance owing must be paid no later than the last day of the contest or before you leave the field, if earlier. If you have money remaining in your account at the end of the contest it will be returned to you by cheque.

 

Tow Tickets

All tow tickets will be looked after for you by a YSA member. When you take a tow a flight card will be filled out for you and the flight will be recorded in our administration system. The tow will be charged at the appropriate rate for contest or non-contest tows.

 

Check-In

When you arrive at the field you must check in with the site office where you will be required to:

  • Provide a copy of your registration form

  • Sign a legal release form.

  • Provide a credit card imprint.

  • You may pre-pay your estimated contest charges if you wish (cheque or cash preferred)

 

Check-out

Before you leave the field at the end of the contest please check in to the office to settle up your account.

 

Crews

Your retrieve crew or others attending with you are welcome to participate in all meals during the contest. They can either purchase their own tickets on a day to day basis or an account can be set up for them. If an account is set up a credit card imprint will be required. It would be preferred if the account is settled with cash or a cheque in which case the imprint will be returned.
