Technical talk - RC glider flies at 564 MPH (908 kph)

Some will find this interesting, Spencer Lisenby, a world record holder for flying RC models(565 MPH)

Re: Line Chief Preliminary Results

I have a few questions regarding intros:
1. When can we find the wavers if the intro shows up without a signed one?
2. How do we know if they paid?
3. If they haven't paid (a random show-up intro), what's the process for payment?

Any additional information we need to know?

Gas has it's risks of not starting when you need it and it requires maintenance... on the long run it will require some attention. what is the price difference between electric and gas powered glider? I know that it will be a significant difference, but it might pay itself after a few years

Re: Self-Launching Gliders are the way of the future

Are you talking about a gas powered engine or electric?
Electric is much more reliable than gas with little to no maintenance

Ground school viseos or podcast?

Hi everyone,
Is there any good video or a podcast to study for the written test?
I have the "from the ground up" study book, but I don't have the time to read it.

Thanks,
Eitan

Re: Rigging. Lark IS-28

Looking at the attached picture, I would think that this rod/bolt has some sort of locking mechanism, so if it allows the wing to be rigged in way the the bolt doesn't go deep enough, to me it looks like a design fault

Re: Rigging. Lark IS-28

This raises a couple of questions for me:
1. Isn't this something that could have seen during the daily inspection if done properly?
2. 14 mm of engagement is enough from an engineering point of view, but isn't the bolts/screws are secured somehow?

Re: Fastets RC model, does it require an engine?? NO!

The guy who flown that glider also designed it (there is a very interesting TED talk that he did about it) put an accelerometer on the glider and it peaked at 120G which was the limit for that sensor
