Re: Be on the lookout for the raccoon activity

Follow up to this. I took a look at the mesh on Saturday and there are some signs that they are trying to get in. On the hangar packing day I am going to add a bit of strapping to ensure that they cannot get in. If anyone wants to help show up with some dirty clothes and a drill with an red Robertso...

Re: SAC Awards transition from OLC ro WeGlide

Since I am not going to fly any scoring flights prior to the shutdown on the 22nd here is my 2024 OLC points.

724.23 Points in 19:45 over 13 flights.

Be on the lookout for the raccoon activity

The kitchen and attic space have been made more resistant to raccoons. The metal mesh covering the openings in the joist are held in with staples. As the weather cools off and raccoons are looking for a cozy place from the winter they might be motivated to break through. So if anyone happens to be i...

Re: The other side of the Travel Trophy cross-country experience.

I was kind of hoping they would send someone over to get it back right away. Was a good day for it.

The super cub tow over the power lines was a bit different.

Re: Proving Grounds

I’d have to ask Patrick how the auto task scorer works in that situation. I’ve only ever done a single lap and landed.

He responded.
It will return the best time on a task flown multiple times, and a time for any/all complete tasks

Re: Proving Grounds

Those are just the waypoints over laid from https://soaringtasks.com/ specifically https://soaringtasks.com/2019/10/10/york-soaring-association-proving-grounds/ The scoring is done a bit differently as it uses beercam style turn points. It is all about time so touch the tangent of the beer can and h...

Time to get a FLARM or OGN transmitter so we can watch from home.

The range on our OGN receiver is a bit of an over achiever. The combination of high height above ground and the massive ground plane our hangar provides seems to work.

Introducing cloud.yorksoaring.com

This was setup earlier this spring but I decided not to share it until the board was happy to allow the camera to stay active. https://cloud.yorksoaring.com/ A few of our aircraft have FLARM units and these signals can be picked up and fed to various mapping and logging services. They are listed in ...
