Re: 2024 Cowley Fall Camp Oct 5th to Oct 14th

I spoke to Tom Anderson at Sugarbush last month and initially he seemed opened to us coming down in October... The Gatineau Gliding Club ( https://www.gatineauglidingclub.ca/ ) Events page states: - Annual Lake Placid Wave & Mountain Flying Camp: Oct. 12 to Oct. 20 2024 so perhaps there is the ...

Re: Things you can find on a D.I.

Wow. I took a lot of mouse mess out last time I flew it, I didn't realize there was more still to go. Thanks for going the extra step! The trail of blue foam bits in the bilge stretched from the base of the stick back to below the spar (both points have a solid bulkhead which probably stopped furth...

Things you can find on a D.I.

This is part of the elevator linkage on the 1-34 (behind the seat).
There were five bodies in there, so I guess they were all deathly afraid of flying...

Re: FLIGHT SHEETS

Please pay attention to Dave's instructions. This is something that can cause all kinds of grief, including charging you for something you didn't do. If you're not sure, take the sheet to someone and ask. Example, not sure of instructor name or FAS. But please don't wander away from the flight line...

Re: 2024 Fly-In And Open House, June 22nd-23rd (The Longest Day)

Pop up tents. We have two I think, and Paul M has a mobile 10'X20' garage. We should have one at the gate and one at the flight line, as a bare minimum. I'd also like to have a few scattered around for visitors who are unprepared for the lack of shade. I can provide two portable shade shelters (rou...

Re: I'm looking for IGC files

If someone can point me to some kind of database or listing of the turn points... [edit: Thanks Paul C for pointing me to the database of turn points, which we have from the 2016 nationals] I use the SW Ontario turn-point list supplemented with a few local landmarks. From this I created a few short...

Re: I'm looking for IGC files

I'm hoping to get ahold of a large number of .IGC files, specifically for cross country flights. ... If any of you can download/provide a set of these files, I will be in your debt. Mostly I'm just noodling around within a 15km radius of YSA. If there's a breeze, it blows me to the upwind side. I'v...

But this is not the 40th edition.
Sub-Logic pioneered the Flight Simulator 40 years ago, but this new Asobo version is only a couple of years old.

The subject of how wings really produce lift was quite well explained by NASA about thirty years ago:

Our weather station has a live tracking screen. Does our agreement with NemoWX provide access to historical data?
There has also been some 737's go over low enough you can recognize the branding on the aircraft.
