Communicating with Transport Canada, Civil Aviation Services (Temporary Privileges Extention)

Post by Wayne Hewison »

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Transport Canada has been very slow to issue new licenses & rating renewals. This past season several members completed their Glider License requirements and were issued 90 day temporary licenses. The backlog at Transport Canada has resulted in members not receiving their Aviation Document booklets & licenses before the expiration of the 90 day temporary permit. To accommodate this situation, Transport Canada has extended the temporary preventives to as outlined in NCR-023-2022: Allows for 90-day temporary privileges to be extended valid to June 30, 2023. The attached document outlines further details with respect to communicating with Transport Canada on a variety of issues. They strongly recommend that any communication involving documentation be submitted via email (do not mail documents).

Best Regards
