Cross-Posting from the SAC Forum:
I’m looking for pilots with a twin and planning to fly the Ontario Provincials on the July long weekend, willing to make the front seat available to one of the young pilots or student pilots from the University Soaring Society. This group from Toronto Metropolitan University are aerospace engineering students and members of Toronto Soaring Club, where, after winter term training on a simulator, they fly Youth Flight Canada’s RL (Real Life) K-21 and beyond.
Stan Martin will fly Zulu Hotel, the YFC K-21 so, there’s three contest flight days. But there are 6 ab initio student pilots and 7 returning pilots with higher level of experience. That’s 13 seats if the weather is good enough for all 3 days.
Kerry Kirby wrote of his experience offering this -
“I did it years ago at TSC provincials. We had 3 days and I had a different person in the front seat each day. Each one had a great flight and talked about it for years.
Let them fly to your instructions as much as you can. Take over to avoid a landout.
The Krosno did well. We won the Novice Class”
This will be an unforgetable experience for these young pilots. Please, if you can…
