Members: Changes to our operation

Post by Dave Bax »

YSA Members, please be aware of several changes to our operation in the last weeks:

1. Line-chief Rota, from the start of July there is a Rota for every Saturday and Sunday, all members are expected to perform at least one 4 hour line-chief shift (under 19 and over 80 exempt). See schedule on the forum, contact Sarah (ysa.officemanager@gmail.com) to add your name or change date of shift.

2. Introductory flights: the tow height is now 2K, the flight time will be 15-30 mins depending upon weather and skill. CAT 3 Medical required to be an intro pilot.

3. No visitors on the runway, other than a visitor going to or returning from an intro flight and should be escorted by a member. See specific post on this forum for more detail.

4. Golf cart driving: Any member with a pilot training card must be checked out for basic driving and glider retrieve and then signed off in the bottom right hand corner box on rear of pilot training card (by Doug, Barry, Tom, Wayne or Paul). Existing members grandfathered in.

5. Your YSA account balance should not be worse than $100 owed, else liable to be grounded.

6. Alex Upchurch is now the primary tow rope repairer.

7. All 3 tow planes are in very good order now, EKV restricted towing for another 3 or 4 tows pending engine broken in.

8. Flying membership has risen to 54 with several in training, please be tolerant of trainees having some priority before 1300.

9. Golf cart Daily inspections. See specific post on this forum.

10. Forum access and sub sections: Not yet in place, but the plan is to deny public access to the normal forum discussion section. Further, there will be a specific section for public viewing and a specific section for safety issues (e.g. runway incursion, power aircraft in our vicinity, golf cart use, circuit behavior )
