Free Flight to Landing

Students should be able to handle more difficult crosswind and higher wind conditions, as well as equipment and circuit difficulty exercises. For emphasis, while the student should be doing most of the flying, below 1000 feet, the instructor should be prepared to take over the controls at any time.

The student should progress to flying fully held-off landings and be able to stop the aircraft to within 100 feet of the planned end point of the landing. They should be able, under moderate conditions, to land keeping the wing that’s into the crosswind down at the end of the landing.
