The Flight Plan

When circumstances dictate a change to the normal flight plan, attempts should be made to return the flight to as normal a state as is possible. If it is not possible to land at the pre-planned airport, then a standard circuit at another airport is desirable. Failing this a standard circuit at a suitable field would be next.

Given that our runway is chosen, and of suitable length, then an abbreviated, into-wind, circuit that can be flown from safe altitudes would be a good choice. An upwind position coupled with low altitude may dictate that a downwind landing will produce the best results.
