People have many different reasons to visit our operation.  Some are here just to observe, while others are more active participants in our operations.   We must assume that all who visit us are unfamiliar with our procedures and will need some guidance.  Unless they are escorted by a club member, visitors should not wander about the taxiways, apron areas (gas pumps), hangers, or the runways.  Even if escorted, care should be taken with when and where they are allowed to stand, take pictures et cetera.

At the launch point, all visitors should be kept clear of the next glider to launch, before the towplane arrives.  Further,  anyone walking down the side of the runway should be a wingspan away from the side.  We have taxiways along side our main runways, and people should practise walking down the side furthest away from the active runway.  Care should  taken as well when crossing inactive runways, as these may come into use at any time.

In general visitors should be kept away from the towplanes when fueling is in progress.  This operation should not be interrupted, and there  it could be easy to get caught up in the fuel hose or the grounding wire.

All visitors who are inspecting parked gliders will also need some guidance, to prevent damage.  The real issue in the end aside from visitor safety, is if aircraft are damaged and this not reported.  Someone else may then fly a damage aircraft.
